Runner’s World magazine keeps publishing advertisements for this:
Do you have any idea what this is trying to sell? Every time I see it, I think it’s an ad for insurance or tampons. It turns out it’s neither. Instead, it’s an ad for “Gear Lending” at Westin Hotel & Resorts. Apparently some people fly around a lot and don’t remember to bring their workout gear, or can’t fit it in their bags. I wouldn’t know about this, because I never go anywhere. Luckily, for people that do, it only costs $5 to wear used workout gear. This doesn’t sound remotely attractive to me, but the most upsetting part is that they don’t even provide the clothes pictured in the ad. If I’m going to workout in used clothes, I should get to look like I’m in a tampon commercial.
Anyway, thank you Runner’s World, for tweeting this ad in addition to printing it in your magazine, so I can be reminded of how much I don’t want to wear old used running clothes while I’m traveling!
