Running and then blogging about it

More Running, Coming Soon

By Colleen @colleenalicia · On March 28, 2013

For those of you following along with my continued running adventures, you must be extremely disappointed.  As am I – my leg is still hurting sometimes, even though it has been 7 months since my stress fracture pulled me out of the game.  In normal circumstances I would still be blogging incessantly about my stress fracture.  However, as I’m finishing up my first year of an MBA program, I’m still figuring out how to work regular blogging into my crazy schedule.  I do have some exciting running-related things coming up:

  1. I’m assuming my injury will be resolved soon and so I can start running again
  2. I recently talked to one of the founders of Uberthons, an events and race-timing company, and might be helping them out a little in the near future

So it turns out there aren’t a lot of things going on in that department for me, but I’m pretty excited about them, and will definitely keep you updated.  In the meantime, please enjoy this word cloud I just made of my most recent blog entries (excluding this one):

I’m happy to see that the word “running” still shows up here, even though not much of that has been happening.  I did go on a little bike ride while accompanying someone else while they ran.  This gave me a chance to wear my new(ish) awesome Nike tights.  Afterward I went to Trader Joe’s and the cashier asked me if I worked for Nike.  I don’t, but if all it took to work for Nike was wearing a bunch of Nike clothes all the time, then me and one million other Portlanders would definitely work for Nike.  Here’s most of the Nike I was wearing today:

I must confess, I started running at a very early age. Sadly, my runs were unblogumented until around age 23, so you'll have to use your imagination for all the runs I went on before that. Running has always been my go-to sport, but sadly, I spend a good amount of my time with chronic injuries. I have learned to entertain myself athletically with other pursuits such as kettlebell, yoga, and bikini competitions, when I can't run. In addition to my unique talent for working out and then blogging about it, I am an amateur puppy stylist and photographer, television enthusiast, and I'm usually CPR/AED certified, but I would still prefer if you didn't pass out when we're together.

Yes! Sadly I haven’t been running enough to warrant new shoes yet, so I had to pass when my bf went to the employee store this week 🙁

I guess that’s all that really matters, even if I can’t run in them

Thanks Emily! Hope I’m back at it again soon too – always happy to see how much you’re still running!

    About Me

I’m Colleen. I started this blog when I was 23 years old and training for my first marathon. I was single, semi-employed, generally directionless in life, and had a lot of free time on my hands. I have a lot less free time now, but I still love to come here and dump my rambling, unedited thoughts after a workout or race once in a while.
